HOW IT STARTED
In today’s entertainment industry, the clearest path towards being a comfortable artist is by becoming a multi-hyphenate. Jill and Jacob met at Northern Stage during a production of Waitress. Jill painted the set and ran spots, and Jacob played the character of “Ogie”. They bonded over their mutual pasts in the circus, love of theater, and especially, sourdough bread. Now, they’re embarking on transforming their penchant for craftsmanship into a full fledged business.
Why epoxy? Why woodworking? Because it’s freaking pretty and fantastically fun. Jill has years of experience as a carpenter in multiple scenic capacities. While working as a cruise ship singer, Jacob busied himself with woodworking sculptures and crocheted animals. Where Jill excels in craftsmanship, Jacob matches with administrative experience and marketing. Providing Jill stops getting splinters, these two are excited to see how far this business can go!
JILLIAN HORNE
A consumate craftswoman, Jillian spent five years at Cirque du Soleil’s “O” as a scuba diver and painter before relocating to the upper valley. She’s currently the scenic charge at Northern Stage, where she heads up the entire paints department. She’s also the co-creator and co-host of “Leave the Ghostlight On”, a podcast chronicling tragic and paranormal in theaters all over the world.
JACOB TISCHLER
Jacob’s a clown, fisher-person, actor, and writer. His first business, “Starter: A Social Justice Bakery”, raised funds for national civil rights causes through the sale of sourdough breads. The Punk Rock Circus, "LIQUID”, which he wrote and co-produced, premiered in Washington, DC in the spring of 2025. He’s mostly in the upper valley to work with Northern Stage as an actor, appearing in shows like “Waitress” (Ogie), and “Peter and Wendy” (Captain Hook).
